1/21/2017: One for the Books.

A sea of pink hats for miles behind, to either side and in front of me.

The Women's March for equality is a day I can't wait to tell my kiddos about. It was a day filled with empowerment, love, passion and devotion towards making our world a more equal and proud place for all.

Sons raised high on their parent's shoulders, and daughter's holding signs that read "Hear us Roar" and "Nasty Woman in Training" among thousands. Down Laurier street, from the Human Rights Monument to the Bronson Centre, downtown Ottawa rang with chants of "No hate, no fear, everybody is welcome here".

Another generation, another year later and yet we still fight against these decrepit injustices. Nevertheless, this is just the beginning.

Thank you Catherine Butler for organizing Saturday's historical event, and indeed you put it perfectly: "This is not a one-time event. Revolution is an ongoing act - and make no mistake, this is a revolution.”
